Privacy Policy
Short version: PDF Splitter processes the PDF files you select on your device. We do not upload your PDF files, split page files, ZIP archives, file names, or file paths to our servers. The app uses Google AdMob for ads and may use Firebase services for analytics, diagnostics, performance monitoring, and remote configuration when Firebase is configured.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Splitter, provided by Bokeria Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
If you have questions, contact us at appsupport@bokeriastudio.com.
2. PDF Files and Split Results
The app lets you select a PDF file, read its page count, split it into separate PDF page files, and share the results as individual PDFs or a ZIP archive.
Your selected PDF files, generated page files, and generated ZIP archives are handled locally on your device. We do not upload these files to our servers, and we do not operate a server that stores your documents.
Split files and ZIP archives are created and shared only when you choose to create or share them through your device or another app.
3. Information the App Handles
The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address.
Depending on how you use the app, the app may handle the following information on your device:
- PDF files that you select through the system file picker or share to the app.
- PDF metadata needed to operate the feature, such as page count.
- Generated split PDF files and ZIP archives that you choose to create and share.
- Local app state, such as selected file state, split progress, ad consent state, and remote configuration values.
This information is used to open PDFs, split pages, create export files, and operate the app experience.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services provided by Google. These services may collect and process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Google AdMob
The app uses Google AdMob to display ads and manage consent choices where required. Google AdMob may collect or process information such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, app interaction data, ad performance data, crash or diagnostic data, and approximate location inferred from device or network information.
On iOS, the app may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you allow tracking, Google AdMob may access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and use it for purposes such as personalized advertising, ad measurement, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and related advertising features. If you do not allow tracking, AdMob may still show ads using information that does not require tracking permission.
Google may use this information to provide ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and abuse, improve its services, and comply with legal requirements. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.
Learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Firebase Services
The app may use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring, and Firebase Remote Config when Firebase is configured for the app. These services may collect app usage events, device and app information, operating system information, diagnostic information, crash logs, performance traces, identifiers, and approximate usage patterns.
Firebase Remote Config may be used to control app settings such as ad availability.
We do not use Firebase services to collect the contents of your PDF files, file names, file paths, generated page files, ZIP archives, or share target names.
Learn more about Firebase privacy and security at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
5. How Information Is Used
Information handled by the app or collected through third-party services may be used to:
- Open and read selected PDF files on your device.
- Split PDFs into separate page files.
- Create ZIP archives and share generated files when you choose to export.
- Show ads and manage ad privacy choices.
- Measure ad performance and prevent ad fraud or abuse.
- Understand general app usage and improve the app.
- Diagnose technical issues, analyze crashes, and improve stability.
- Apply remote app settings such as ad visibility controls.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your PDF files, generated page files, ZIP archives, file names, or file paths.
We do not share your PDF contents, file names, file paths, generated page files, ZIP archives, or share target names with Google AdMob, Firebase services, or our own servers.
Google may process data collected through Google AdMob and Firebase services according to Google’s policies and the settings that apply to your device, region, and consent choices.
When you choose another app from the system share sheet, that app may process the files you share according to its own privacy policy.
7. App Permissions and File Access
The app may use operating system file access features so you can select PDF files, create split PDF files and ZIP archives, or share exported files.
The app accesses files you select or share with it for the purpose of reading, splitting, exporting, and sharing those files. It does not scan all files on your device.
On Android, the app uses internet and network state permissions for ads, consent, and Google services. On iOS, the app uses standard document picker and share sheet features for file selection and sharing.
8. Advertising Choices
You may be able to manage advertising identifiers, ad personalization, consent choices, and tracking choices through your device settings.
- On Android, review your Google and privacy settings related to ads and the advertising ID.
- On iOS, you can allow or deny tracking when the App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown, and you can change this choice later in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Google also provides information about ad personalization controls at https://adssettings.google.com/.
9. Data Retention
We do not retain your PDF files, generated page files, or ZIP archives on our servers because they are not uploaded to our servers.
Files exported by the app remain where you choose to save or share them on your device or in another app. You can delete those files using your device or the app where they are stored.
Local app state may remain on your device until you delete the app, clear app data, or reset the relevant device storage. Third-party services may retain data according to their own retention policies.
10. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.
11. Security
We design the app so PDF splitting and export happen on your device. However, no device, app, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for keeping your device, files, and shared documents secure.
12. International Processing
Third-party services used by the app, including Google AdMob and Firebase services, may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those services process data according to their own policies and applicable legal frameworks.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above.
Your continued use of the app after the updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
