Compress PDF
Privacy Policy
Your PDFs are processed on your device and are never sent to us, to Firebase, or to advertisers. After a successful compression, the result screen shows a small Google AdMob banner ad. Usage statistics and diagnostics can each be turned off in Settings; in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland the app asks first. No account is required.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy covers Compress PDF (also called PDF 용량 줄이기), the Android and iOS app provided by Bokeria ("we"), and these app information pages. For privacy questions or requests, contact appsupport@bokeriastudio.com. The app does not require an account.
This version of the policy describes the app with banner ads and region-based defaults for usage statistics and diagnostics. Version 1.0 of the app, as first released, did not include ads, and its usage statistics and diagnostics were off by default for everyone.
2. Your PDFs stay on your device
The app accesses the PDF you choose through the system file picker, or a PDF you open or share into the app from another app, to read its size and page count, compress it, and create a new PDF. PDF contents, file names, file paths, and compressed documents are not uploaded to our servers and are not intentionally included in Firebase events, diagnostics, or ad requests. We do not operate a document storage server.
The app uses system file access only for documents you select or send to it and for locations you choose for saving. It does not scan your entire device or request access to contacts, your camera, microphone, or precise location. Your original PDF is not overwritten.
3. Information stored locally
The app stores working copies, compressed results, temporary sharing copies, your privacy and ad-consent choices, and limited state used to handle interrupted work or saves. Some save-recovery records include a reference to the destination you selected. Google’s consent tool stores your ad-consent choice on the device.
To avoid repeated review prompts, it also keeps up to three random compression task IDs and whether a system review request was attempted. These records do not contain document names, paths, or contents and are not sent as usage events.
4. Usage statistics and diagnostics
The app offers two separate choices in Settings → Privacy Settings: Usage statistics, and Error and performance diagnostics. When enabled, they send information to Google Firebase for app improvement and troubleshooting. Declining them does not restrict PDF selection, compression, saving, or sharing.
- EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: on first launch, the app asks before sending anything for these features. Both choices start off; you can allow either, both, or neither.
- Other regions: both are on when you first start the app. You can turn either off at any time.
The app decides which group applies once, on first launch, using only device settings (the region in your language settings, your SIM country, and your time zone). If it cannot tell, it asks. This check does not send anything off the device.
- Usage statistics — Google Analytics for Firebase: actions such as selecting, compressing, saving, sharing, and opening a PDF; compression mode and quality preset; success, cancellation, or failure; target-size outcome; and processing-duration ranges. SDK data can include app interactions, app/device information, installation or session identifiers, and approximate region derived from your IP address.
- Diagnostics — Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring: crash records, predefined error codes, processing times, app/OS/device information, installation identifiers, and technical network information such as IP addresses.
The app does not attach your PDF, file name, path, or raw document error message to these reports. Firebase Analytics does not collect the advertising ID, its advertising-related consent settings stay disabled, and these statistics and diagnostics are not used for advertising.
See Firebase privacy and security and Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
After a compression that produces a smaller file, the result screen shows a small banner ad provided by Google AdMob. Other screens do not show ads. The ad SDK is never given your PDF, its file name, or its path.
Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK may collect your IP address (which can be used to estimate approximate location), app and ad interactions such as app launches, ad impressions, and taps, diagnostic and performance information, and device identifiers. On Android this includes the Android Advertising ID and app set ID. On iOS, the app asks once for App Tracking Transparency permission, after any required ad-consent choice and before ads load. The SDK uses your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow it; if you decline, ads and all app features still work. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and abuse, and, where permitted, personalize ads. Google processes it under its own policies; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and How Google uses information for advertising.
- Where consent is required (as determined by Google’s consent tool, for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland): the app shows Google’s consent form, and no ads are requested until you respond. You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad Privacy Settings.
- Elsewhere: you can limit ad personalization in your device settings (on Android, reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads; on iOS, turn off tracking for the app under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking) and in Google My Ad Center.
Ads need a network connection. Compression works the same with or without ads.
6. Changing your choices
You can change usage statistics and diagnostics at any time in Settings → Privacy Settings. Turning an option off stops new app measurements for that option. Turning diagnostics off also asks the SDK to delete stored crash reports. Crash reports may be uploaded on a later app launch when diagnostics are enabled.
Information already queued may still be sent after you turn an option off. Re-enabling diagnostics may send earlier errors still on the device. These switches do not delete data already received by Google, and the app cannot verify completion of the SDK’s deletion request.
Where ad consent is required, Settings → Ad Privacy Settings reopens Google’s consent form. Outside those regions, the ad SDK’s data collection cannot be switched off inside the app; use the device and Google settings described in section 5.
7. Saving, sharing, support, and reviews
When you save to a cloud-backed folder, share, or open a PDF in another app, your chosen provider may receive the file under its own privacy policy. This occurs at your request. A file provider may also download a cloud document when you select it.
If you send us email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. The app’s support email draft includes the app and OS versions; you can edit it before sending. It does not automatically attach PDFs, file names, paths, logs, or user identifiers. We use correspondence to answer and resolve your request.
The app may ask Google Play or Apple’s App Store to display a system review prompt. The store handles any review and associated account information under its own policy; the app does not receive your review text, rating, or confirmation that you submitted one. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
8. Retention and deletion
Working files are temporary and are cleaned up when work is discarded or during app startup and recovery. Sharing copies become eligible for cleanup after 24 hours (on iOS, after the sharing window closes); cleanup runs on a later app launch or sharing operation, not at an exact deadline. Files you save or send elsewhere remain there until you delete them.
Local preferences, consent choices, and review-request state remain until app data is removed. You can remove local app data by deleting the app, or by clearing its storage where your system provides that option. This does not delete exported files or data already sent to service providers.
Google documents a 90-day period for Crashlytics data before deletion begins. Performance Monitoring uses 30 days for IP-associated events and 60 days for installation-associated or de-identified data. Analytics retention depends on the property’s retention setting and data type; see Analytics data retention. Google retains advertising data under its own practices; see How Google retains data. These are provider retention practices, not a promise of immediate erasure.
Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond to and follow up on the issue, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations, and is deleted when no longer needed. Contact us to request deletion. We may need enough information to locate the relevant records; without an account, we may be unable to identify a particular telemetry or ad record from your email address alone.
9. Recipients, international processing, and security
We do not sell personal information for money. Google receives the information described in sections 4 and 5: it processes usage statistics and diagnostics as our service provider, and it processes ad-related information to deliver, measure, and, where permitted, personalize ads under its own policies. In some places, letting an ad network use information for personalized advertising may be treated as “selling” or “sharing” personal information; you can limit it as described in section 5 or contact us. Our email provider processes support correspondence. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under their applicable data-protection terms. We use local document processing and limit the information sent in app measurements and ad requests. No device, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data, restrict or object to processing, opt out of personalized advertising, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Send requests to appsupport@bokeriastudio.com. We will review your request under applicable law and may ask for limited information to verify it. You can withdraw measurement consent, and, where applicable, ad consent, in the app without losing PDF features.
11. Children
The app is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed to children under 13, or a higher age where applicable law requires. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate deletion steps.
12. This website
These pages do not include advertising scripts, analytics scripts, third-party fonts, or tracking cookies. Firebase Hosting serves the pages and processes incoming IP addresses to deliver the service and help detect abuse. Google states that Hosting retains IP data for a few months. Following an external link or sending email uses the destination provider’s services and policies.
13. Policy updates and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. If a change requires a new choice or notice, we will provide it as required. Questions about this policy or personal data can be sent to Bokeria at appsupport@bokeriastudio.com.
